Flu, Begone!

A little update:

The Swine Flu Fairy has finally left the building. She really outstayed her welcome. We sincerely hope she stays away. Two visits is enough.

One doctor's visit, several breathing treatments, Tylenol doses and one antibiotic later, and we're back on our feet.

Luckily it didn't hit the adults as hard as the kiddos. Someone has to feel well enough to tend to the sick ones...

Now, we're bulking up on our Vitamin C, trying to get in more fruits and veggies, doing lots of hand washing and house cleaning.

A sincere thank you for all the kind well-wishes and prayers on our behalf.

We are grateful for our health, more now than even before.

  2. I am so happy that everyone is well once again!! That swine flu stuff is scary. Several kids in my son's class have been diagnosed with it. We are popping vitamins like crazy.

  3. SO glad you are all ok now!!! Did you guys seriously have THE dreaded SWINE FLU? The doctors confirmed it? I know Craig had it too a few weeks ago. Please tell me! If so, what made it worse/scarier than the regular flu?

  4. We took Andrew in to our pediatrician's office. The nurse practitioner said it was most likely the swine flu because of the symptoms, but they didn't actually test the kids. Really, the big differences are, it seems to be affecting children more than adults, it lasts much longer (10-14 days), although you don't feel sick the whole time necessarily. Some of the symptoms are fever, tiredness, dry cough, runny or stuffy nose, achiness, and sometimes nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. My kids never threw up, but they were tired, had runny noses and sinus trouble, high fever and lack of appetite. Andrew was having trouble breathing, which is why I brought him in, but he also has asthma, so things like the flu affect his breathing more severely. Truly, it wasn't really all that awful compared to what the media is hyping, though I wouldn't want to go through it again...Wow that was a long comment. Hope this helps!

  5. I am so sorry that the kids were so sick! Hopefully there will be no repeat visits. It's so horrible to see our little ones suffer.
